The mixed forests and mountain slopes are home to grouse, brown bears and lynx. The park, also known by the proud locals as armenia&#8217;s Switzerland, is home to some of the country&#8217;s best preserved medieval monasteries. Visit the Haghartsin Monastery, one of the largest and most remote monasteries where a priest still lives, and the lesser<span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"nl\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"en\" data-phrase-index=\"5\">-known Goshavank monastery complex, with a total <\/span>of three churches and nine buildings <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"nl\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"en\" data-phrase-index=\"6\">built between the 12th and 13th centuries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"nl\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"en\" data-phrase-index=\"6\">Located among deep green wooded mountains you will also find the city <strong>of Dilijan.<\/strong> This city and its surroundings were an important spa in the last decades of the Soviet Union.
