The closer to the underground caldera, the higher the geothermal activity. The psychedelic sea of microorganisms in the <strong>Norris Geyser Basin<\/strong> and the predictable towering explosions of boiling water and steam from the <strong>Old Faithful geyser <\/strong>are well worth it. Also not to be missed are the Lower Falls, where the Yellowstone River collapses with thunderous violence into the canyon of the <strong>Grand Canyon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During safaris, you&#8217;ll get to know Yellowstone&#8217;s wildlife diversity. It is the hunting ground of grizzly bears, cougars and wolves \u00a0 that delight moose, bighorn sheep and bison. Impressive is the month-long migration of herds of bison in October, towards warm geyser basins to survive in the relentlessly cold winters.
