Despite Atahualpa meeting him with a ransom, a room full of gold and silver, he was still sentenced to death. Civilization had begun. It gives a special feeling to wander around in this historic place. The traditional Cajamarca is located in the green valley of the same name, in northern <strong>Peru.<\/strong> It has a well-preserved Spanish colonial center. Around the <strong>Plaza de Armas <\/strong>(the main square) are the cathedral, impressive churches and baroque houses on cobbled streets.
