The average height is more than 900 meters above sea level. The highest peak, Mount Tahat, is 3003 meters high. The Assekrem is a famous and often visited place, where P\u00e8re de Foucauld lived as a hermit in the summer of 1905. The Hoggar Mountains is a beautiful area for trekking.
