In this area are three contiguous game reserves namely <strong>Samburu National Reserve,<\/strong> <strong>Shaba<\/strong> and <strong>Buffalo Springs.<\/strong> The reserves are just above the equator. A remote wilderness with a unique flora and fauna. Through this area, the Ewaso Nyiro River, which is overgrown on both banks with acacia, palm trees and tamarinds, is a gathering place for large numbers of wildlife. The Samburu game reserve, together with Masai Mara game reserve, boasts the largest concentrations of game. The Grevy&#8217;s zebra and the giraffe gazelle (Gerenuk) occur only in the north in Kenya, as well as the Beisa oryx and the Somali ostrich.<\/p>\n<p>Samburu National Reserve; one of our personal favorites.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contiguous game reserves Samburu, Shaba and Buffalo Springs.
