The multi-million dollar city is a bustling, sometimes chaotic metropolis with one of South America&#8217;s largest and best preserved colonial centers, La Candelaria. It is a surprisingly beautiful and cosy neighbourhood, with theatres, galleries, cultural caf\u00e9s, libraries and universities. Typical are the typical cobbled streets, the colourful colonial houses with their carved portals and balconies, the many white churches and monasteries and the plazas with the most important historical buildings.<\/p>\n<p>Bogot\u00e1 is a surprising gem in South America with great contradictions. On the one hand the former colonial centre with the cosy streets, restaurants and shops. On the other hand, the bustling metropolis with state-of-the-art buildings and luxurious shops.
