The park is dominated by <strong>Mount Meru<\/strong>, with 4566 meters the second highest mountain in Tanzania. The flanks of the mountain are dominated by lichen-covered trees, in which Colobus monkeys swing. At the foot of the mountain, with sharply jagged crater edges, lie the <strong>Momella lakes<\/strong> in which hundreds of flamingos live.
