\n labyrinth of lagoons<\/h4>\n

\n To the north, the Okavango Delta<\/a>beckons , a labyrinth of lagoons covered with water lilies, islets with palm trees and bird-rich marshes; a world-class   attraction, named after the river that meanders here.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n Four of the Big Five<\/h4>\n

\n In the eastern part, the Moremi<\/a> game reserve live rare animals like wild dogs and marsh antelopes but also four of the ‘big five’. That foursome \u2013 lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant \u2013 can also be found at the nearby Chobe<\/a>Wildlife Park, named after Botswana’s other great river and known for its safari cruises.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n Salt pans and zebras<\/h4>\n

\n In the southernmost tip of the delta are the salt pans of Makgadigadi and Nxai<\/a> that become white in the rainy season. This is the only place in southern Africa where you can see itinerant wildebeest and zebras in spring!<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n petroglyphs<\/h4>\n

\n In addition, Botswana is known for one of the largest collections of petroglyphs in the world. They are tucked away in the Tsodilo hills on the edge of the Kalahari<\/a>, the semi-desert that covers much of the country.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
